Ferrari 355 GTS - Restoration Project

A Ferrari with nearly 20 years of age..

As we arrived, the car sit still at the car porch. We could conclude that its paint is oxidised (appear dull/haze colour)
The whitish colour spots are oxidised paint marks.
We could see a big different in the paint of the oxidised part compared to the less oxidised body paint.
Sadly, this car have paint burn (Whitish paint part caused by over removal of paint during polishing and it is a permanent damage) possibly caused by the previous person who polished this Ferrari with lack of skills polishing this vehicle.

The first thing we did was doing its interior leather cleaning.

50/50 view: Cleaned (Below), Original (Above)

Before

After

After interior, we detail its engine which is covered with dust and cobwebs using safe engine wash method of brush and degreaser.

Washing of the car with Optimum No Rinse to prevent water from entering the cracks and crevices which could cause rust especially on older cars.

Claying (Decontaminate) of the car after wash to remove small particle which are not removed during wash. To prevent the small particle to stuck to the polishing pad which could cause scratches during polishing.

The clay have red paint from the Ferrari. This indicates how delicate is this Ferrari's paint. This car requires special technique of polishing approach for this condition. Conventional polishing method will only destroy the fragile paint of the car.

The polishing process starts now, we started with a finer polish such as Detailing Kingdom Next Cut FINALE to enrich the oxidised paint which is very dry and the polishing oil are able to enrich and enhance the colour of the paint bringing in new look again.

We also polish inside of the door jamb area for full coverage.

Polishing done! Our towel is also starting to turn red in colour. We actually used 2 steps polishing to restore this car. 3 steps is the best for this car's condition but time is limited for us so we had to stick to 2 for the moment.
After polishing, the paint looks shiny again. And vacuuming of the interior after polishing.

Its time to protect this car with a good quality of wax. IPA spraydown are done prior to waxing.

Even the "Horse" needs to be polished too!

After 5 hours spent on this car...THE FINAL RESULT? Stunning new look again! Even the owner are super impressed with the new makeover we gave her.

Its an honor for us to restore this legendary Ferrari 355 GTS. It is also our very first Ferrari detailing..

We at Jethro Detailing will always do our best to ensure your car is cared the right way and passionately like its our own car.

Perodua Myvi - Headlamp Restoration

A customer requested us to restore his yellowish headlamp and fix his paint chipping problems from stone chips plus some car waxing service. Due to the severity of the oxidized headlights, a professional sanding approach is required to restore it.
Beginning of the detailing process, washing of car.

After washing the whole car, we tape the side of the headlamp to prevent sanding the car's paint prior to headlamp sanding.

After wetsanding: 800 grit, 1200 grit & 1500 grit
(To sand off the damaged clearcoat from the headlamp)

After wet sanding, we use Turtle Wax Heavy Duty Rubbing Compound to remove heavier sanding marks and evenly level the sanding marks.

Definitely looking much better than it was previously! But wait, we don't just stop there.(After polished of the headlamp with Detailing Kingdom Next Cut 1.1 (Compound))

Now it looks really new after polishing and coating.
(1. Polished with Detailing Kingdom Next Cut 3.3 to remove finer scratches from compounding
2. Coating with SiO2 glass coating for long lasting protection)

Now let's get on to restoring the other headlamp.
(Polishing of the headlamp with DA Polisher compound)
Final Result: New clear pair of headlamp
More pictures of the car after sealant and waxing.
(Customer's car ever polished by us, so we just do a car protection maintenance to maintain the shine by polishing job)
